Driving Excellence: Leadership Orientation for Medical Staff Leaders

Wednesday, July 30, 2025
1:00 - 2:00 PM ET

Leading medical staff today means navigating complex challenges in performance oversight, accountability, and quality of care, often with limited guidance. Driving Excellence: Leadership Orientation for Medical Staff Leaders equips Chiefs, CMOs, Department Chairs, and Medical Staff Professionals with the tools they need to lead confidently and effectively. Presented by Anne Roberts, Esq., CPMSM, CPCS, and Brijen Shah, MD, AGAF, this webinar offers practical strategies across recruitment, credentialing, peer review (FPPE/OPPE), and provider performance management. Attendees will learn how to apply data-informed decisions, address performance concerns, and align departmental goals with system-wide priorities. Join us for real-world insights that will elevate your leadership and support sustained clinical excellence.

At the conclusion of the activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Apply structured, data-informed strategies—including FPPE/OPPE and patient outcome measures—to evaluate and manage provider performance consistently across departments.
  2. Demonstrate improved collaboration between physician leaders and Medical Staff Professionals in the execution of credentialing, privileging, and performance oversight responsibilities.
  3. Identify and mitigate bias and communication barriers in provider oversight by incorporating culturally competent leadership practices related to gender, ethnicity, language, and health literacy.
  4. Utilize progressive intervention models (e.g., coaching, peer review, formal action) to address performance concerns early and fairly, improving both provider accountability and patient safety.
  5. Integrate recruitment and onboarding strategies that align with organizational goals, clinical quality standards, and the evolving needs of diverse patient populations.
